Commissioning Services

Commissioning Services

Commissioning (Cx) is the process of verifying, in new construction, all or some of the subsystems for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, building envelopes, interior systems, cogeneration, utility plants, sustainable systems, lighting, wastewater, controls, and building security to achieve the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), as intended by the building owner and as designed by the building’s architects and engineers.

Grumman|Butkus Associates has extensive experience and expertise providing Cx services for new building systems. Cx is a core service for GBA. Commissioning, together with retro-commissioning (RCx) and monitoring-based commissioning services, currently accounts for about 30% of the firm's gross billings.

Our firm has been named a Certified Commissioning Firm by the Building Commissioning Association. This designation represents third-party vetting of our services in this area, and places us among a select group of companies in the U.S. and Canada to achieve the certification thus far.
