Evanston Businesses Join to Support Harvey Relief

GBA News

Grumman/Butkus Associates is working with a group of local businesses to sponsor four fundraising events in September, collectively entitled “Hurricane Harvey: Give for the Gulf.”

Starting on Thursday, September 7, each Thursday in September will be marked with a lunch or happy hour at an Evanston business. Donations made at the events will be matched by the sponsoring businesses (including G/BA), and a portion of the proceeds of each event will also be donated.

The lineup includes:

  • Sept. 7, Lunch, Flat Top Grill, 707 Church St., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sept. 14, Happy Hour, Accuity (partnered with Koi), 1007 Church St., 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Sept. 21, Lunch, Terra & Vine, 1701 Maple Ave., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sept. 28, Happy Hour, Whiskey Thief, 616 Davis St., 4 to 6 p.m.

Funds will be targeted to reputable nonprofits that are assisting communities in need in Texas and Louisiana.

“We are lucky to have Hagerty Consulting, a firm that helps clients prepare for and recover from disasters, right around the corner to lead this effort,” says G/BA Illinois President Chad Luning. “People want to help, and it will be a great opportunity for Evanston professionals and residents to come together to provide some measure of relief for the people of Houston and other affected areas while enjoying great food and drinks from some of our many outstanding local businesses. G/BA is happy to do what we can to amplify this effect.”
