Grumman|Butkus Associates has once again earned recognition as a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Business from the League of American Bicyclists.
Bicycle Friendly Businesses include local businesses, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies across the United States that have demonstrated their commitment to making the American workplace more welcoming to customers and employees who bike. The recent recognition marks the second renewal of Silver-level status initially awarded to GBA.
“We are proud to be recognized again by the League of American Bicyclists for our efforts to be bicycle friendly,” says Chad Luning, President/CFO of the Illinois office. “We have many regular bicycle commuters – myself included – who take advantage of the office’s accessibility and the amenities we provide to support cycling, even over longer distances. Beyond the positive environmental impact, biking to work also enhances the physical and mental well‑being of our staff.”
Support for cyclists in GBA’s Evanston office includes indoor bike parking, a changing area, gear storage, a federally supported bike commuter subsidy, a loaner bike for short trips to client locations, and periodic in-house seminars on bicycle maintenance and safety. The company’s Wisconsin staff also remains active in the cycling community by participating in various recreational rides and charity events in the Milwaukee area.
GBA joins a total of 1,117 BFBs across the country, united in a commitment to transform American workplaces to be more welcoming to customers and employees who bike.
“At the heart of this work is consistency,” says Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. “Bicycle Friendly Businesses don’t treat biking as a one-time project. They build it into their policies, their benefits, and their culture. Grumman|Butkus Associates has shown what it looks like to stick with that commitment and make it part of how they operate every day.”
