Overview

The Madox is a seven-story luxury residential building in the historic Paulus Hook section of Jersey City, NJ. Members of GBA’s commissioning team provided commissioning services with another engineering firm, the Fields Development Group and the building’s design team.

Commissioning

The building was designed with the goal of achieving a LEED Certified rating. The commissioning team worked with the design team to ensure that the owner’s project requirements (OPR) and basis of design (BOD) were incorporated in the building design and flowed through construction.

Newly installed equipment, such as high-efficiency lighting, split-system air conditioning units with individual controls, garage exhaust with demand control ventilation, and photovoltaic panels for renewable energy, were included in the commissioning process. The project ultimately received LEED-NC 2009 Silver certification.
