GBA Promotes 14 Employees

GBA’s Chicago, Milwaukee, and New York regional offices recently promoted 14 staff members:

  • Doug Frey, PE, LEED AP, was promoted to Associate Vice President.
  • Aaron Eisenmann and Anthony Papapietro, EIT, were promoted to Associate.
  • Corey Sweeney; Gregori “Greg” Tayco, EIT; and Daiju Varghese, PE, CEM were promoted to Project Manager.
  • Greg Powers; Nick Ratkowski, FE; and Russell Williams, PE were promoted to Senior Project Engineer.
  • Promoted to Project Engineer were Nora Davis, Sam Moser, Janelle Schmitz, Trevor Veenstra, and Eli Zietlow.

Doug Frey joined GBA’s Evanston office in 2006. He graduated with a BS in Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1998. Doug is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and Michigan. He specializes in HVAC system design for new and existing facilities, including field inspections of existing conditions, heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selection, and system layout. His work focuses on the healthcare, hotel, and education sectors.

Aaron Eisenmann joined GBA’s Wauwatosa office in 2013, the same year he graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Aaron is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin and Illinois. He is experienced with many project phases, including analysis, planning, and design of mechanical systems and equipment for large institutional and pharmaceutical facilities. His work encompasses commercial, healthcare, laboratory, and institutional sectors.

Anthony Papapietro joined GBA’s Hoboken office in 2022. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Marine Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College in 2000. Anthony is an Engineer in Training in New York. He helps lead commissioning and other projects with the GBA New York team. He has experience with all phases of project management and with liaising with various authorities having jurisdiction, especially governmental departments in New York and New Jersey.

Corey Sweeney joined GBA’s Wauwatosa office in 2017. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 2017. Corey is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin. His work encompasses commercial, healthcare, laboratory, and institutional sectors.

Gregori Tayco joined GBA’s Hoboken office in 2022. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from The Cooper Union in 2014. He is an Engineer in Training. Greg specializes in retro-commissioning and building automation systems. His BAS experience ranges from specifications, design, and programming, to estimation, project management, and system commissioning. His retro-commissioning experience encompasses control system optimization and energy-efficient system operation.

Daiju Varghese joined GBA’s Evanston office in 2019. He earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Nagpur University in 2011, as well as a Masters in Energy Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida and specializes in energy-related engineering projects. Daiju’s work ranges from building automation design to retro- and monitoring-based commissioning for clients in multiple market sectors, with an emphasis on complex buildings such as hospitals and laboratories.

Greg Powers joined GBA’s Evanston office in 2019. He graduated from Valparaiso University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2014. Greg’s areas of specialization include mechanical systems for diverse facility types, with an emphasis on complex pharmaceutical and power facilities.

Nick Ratkowski joined GBA’s Evanston office in 2022. He graduated in 2016 from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Nick is an Engineer in Training (Fundamentals of Engineering). He specializes in plumbing and fire protection, with experience in design, BIM coordination, and drafting for plumbing systems. His work encompasses the healthcare, cultural, commercial, and government sectors.

Russell Williams joined GBA’s Evanston office in 2021. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 2016 and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois. Russell specializes in mechanical systems design, project management, and construction administration, as well as plumbing and fire protection systems. His work has primarily been focused in the healthcare sector.

Trevor Veenstra joined GBA’s Evanston office in 2022. He graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 2021. Trevor supports GBA’s senior electrical team for analytical and design projects, including all types of electrical infrastructure and lighting. Client sectors include hospitality, healthcare, higher education, government, and religious/cultural.

Nora Davis joined GBA’s Wauwatosa office in 2019. She graduated with a BS and an MS of Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2021. Nora specializes in planning and design of mechanical systems and equipment, as well as computer drafting to prepare construction documents for hydronic systems, air distribution systems, and plumbing systems. Her work encompasses commercial, healthcare, laboratory, and institutional sectors.

Sam Moser joined GBA’s Wauwatosa office in 2022. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology in 2016. Sam specializes in evaluating existing mechanical systems to discover opportunities for improved energy efficiency, reduced operating costs, and increased reliability. Client sectors include commercial, industrial, healthcare, laboratory, and institutional.

Janelle Schmitz joined GBA’s Wauwatosa office in 2019. She earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville in 2018. Janelle is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin. Her work encompasses commercial, laboratory and institutional sectors.

Eli Zietlow joined GBA’s Wauwatosa office in 2021. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville in 2021. Eli’s responsibilities include performing computer drafting, including design of hydronic systems, air distribution systems and air ventilation systems utilizing ASHRAE 62.1 standards. Client sectors include commercial, corporate, higher education, and institutional.
