GBA has earned recognition as a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Business from the League of American Bicyclists.

The firm joins more than 1,400 local businesses, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies across the United States in transforming the American workplace to be more welcoming to our customers and employees who bike. GBA is proud to support the health and well-being of our community by being more welcoming to people choosing to bike. The recognition marks the renewal of Silver-level status initially conferred to GBA in 2017.

“We are excited to be recognized again by the League of American Bicyclists for our efforts to be bicycle friendly,” says Chad Luning, President/CFO of the Illinois office. “We have many regular bicycle commuters, myself included, who enjoy biking to work from distances far and near. We expect the number of bicycle commuters to increase as people return to the office and favor alternatives to public transportation and congested roadways.”

Support for cyclists in the Evanston office includes indoor bike parking, a changing area, gear storage, a federally supported bike commuter subsidy, a loaner bike for short trips to client locations, and periodic in-house seminars on bicycle maintenance and safety. The company’s Wisconsin staff also remains active in the cycling community by participating in various recreational rides and charity events in the Milwaukee area.

GBA joins 32 total new and renewing BFBs in the League’s latest round of BFB awards and 1,471 total current BFBs across the country, all united in a commitment to transform American workplaces to be more welcoming to customers and employees who bike. The Bicycle Friendly Business award recognizes an organization’s contributions over months and years to the movement to build a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone.

“We are pleased to celebrate new and renewing Bicycle Friendly Businesses, as these awards are a reminder that our vision of an America where every person can safely and easily choose to bike is rooted in every part of a community, including business leaders,” said Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. “As we embark on a new year primed with opportunities to bettering bicycling, we are proud to see businesses that clearly care about helping us get more people on bikes, not only because they know it’s good for their business, but because they know that Bicycle Friendly Businesses play a crucial role in connecting the people who bike in their community to jobs, schools, essential services, daily destinations,  and so much more.”
