Energy and Retro-Commissioning Project Manager/Associate

Basic Functions

Under direct supervision of Principal, Associate, or other assigned supervisor and in collaboration with project team, the Energy and Retro-Commissioning Project Manager/Associate is responsible for energy and retro-commissioning, and the management of teams of M/E/P/FP engineers on multiple projects, including maintaining day-to-day communications with the Client.

      Minimum Responsibilities

      You will serve as a lead member of the NY/NJ GBA team for energy analysis and retro-commissioning projects.

        • Condition assessments, energy audits, and retro-commissioning for existing facilities.
        • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards to draw valid conclusions and apply creative and innovative solutions to complex project challenges while making difficult decisions in a timely manner.
        • Completing field surveys; reviewing equipment shop drawings and other information related to studies.
        • Calculating energy savings associated with measures identified in energy audits or retro-commissioning utilizing Excel or building simulation tools/software.
        • Providing project management and coordination on medium- and large-sized projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule
        • Maintaining effective communication with clients, contractors, and other project team members
        • Preparing summary reports and presentations and delivering them to clients, multidisciplinary project teams, and other relevant parties
        • Leading work related to ENERGY STAR, LEED, and Green Globes assessments and certifications.
        • Supporting business development activities, including networking at industry events, developing and maintaining client relationships, and preparation of proposals.
        • Coach and mentor team by setting clear expectations, providing opportunities for training, recognizing achievement, providing feedback and supporting progressive improvement guidance when necessary.

      Qualifications

      What You Will Need to Succeed

        • BS in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from ABET accredited school.
        • Registered Professional Engineer preferred.
        • Demonstrates expert level of knowledge of codes, standards, materials, details, and construction techniques.
        • Demonstrates an expert level of knowledge of most HVAC sub-systems, including a working knowledge of temperature controls.
        • 10+ years of experience in analyzing/simulating building energy using systems, especially HVAC systems, in technically sophisticated buildings and performing energy audits and/or retro-commissioning assignments.
        • Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
