John D. Villani, G/BA Vice President and leader of the firm’s commissioning efforts, is the new President of the Building Commissioning Association.
The BCxA is an international non-profit organization that serves as the recognized authority and resource on commissioning. Villani’s previous work with the group includes posts as Director-at-Large on the International Board and President of the Central Chapter, which encompasses 12 Midwestern states.
“I am very honored and humbled to step into the role of BCxA’s President,” says Villani. “I feel very fortunate to have found a career I love. It feels natural to give back as much as I can by serving the only professional association focused on commissioning. I look forward to working diligently with the BCxA staff; an amazing executive committee of Tom Poeling, Candice Rogers, and Dan Forino; our International Board; chapters; and all members to strengthen and grow the BCxA in 2018.”
Since joining G/BA in 2008, Villani has overseen significant growth in the firm’s commissioning, retro-commissioning, and monitoring-based commissioning services. He spearheaded the company’s expansion into the New York region with the opening of a Hoboken, NJ, commissioning office in 2013. Prior experience includes posts at Johnson Controls and Columbia University. Villani is a graduate of SUNY Maritime College and lives in Libertyville, IL, with his wife, Nancy, and children, Sarah and CJ.
