  • Justin D’Arcy who recently earned his Professional Engineer credential, was promoted to Project Engineer.

Mike Jelaca joined the firm in 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Mike’s work focuses on energy studies, engineering design, and commissioning for healthcare, higher education, and laboratory facilities.

Steve Zehr has been part of the G/BA team since 2014. He is a graduate of Goshen College (BA/Physics) and the University of Wisconsin at Madison (Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering). Steve specializes in engineering analysis of mechanical systems, including heating and cooling plant design, building energy use, BAS, piping system design, and computer simulation modeling.

Susan Golen, employed by G/BA since 2009, is a graduate of Marquette University (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering). She has been involved in all phases of electrial system project design, from master planning to construction support, for a variety of clients—particularly in the pharmaceutical, laboratory, and healthcare sectors.

Ben Andes was hired by the firm in 2014. He holds the Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering and the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts degrees, both from the University of Texas at Austin. Part of G/BA’s commissioning team, Ben generally focuses on projects for the higher education and healthcare sectors.

George Ioannou is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering). Since joining G/BA in 2014, he has performed projects ranging from industrial and mission-critical energy studies to commissioning and RCx for clients in multiple sectors, including commercial, higher education, and healthcare.

William Wylie joined the firm in 2012. He holds the Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He specializes in energy modeling and the design of hospitals, higher education facilities, theatres, and spaces with special requirements (for instance, acoustically sensitive facilities, cleanrooms, and art storage).

Justin D’Arcy became a G/BA team member in 2015, shortly after he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Dayton. His areas of specialization include commissioning, retro-commissioning, and building automation systems, including projects for healthcare, commercial, and higher education clients.

G/BA congratulates these team members for their valuable ongoing contributions to the firm, which specializes in energy and resource consulting for large, energy-intensive facilities as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing/FP design services, commissioning, retro-commissioning, energy and resource benchmarking, energy conservation studies, MEP infrastructure planning and upgrades, LEED consulting, and computerized building modeling. Founded in 1973 in Evanston, IL, the company also has offices in Wisconsin, Florida, and the New York metropolitan area.
