Honoring Jack Cooper for Two Decades of Guidance

GBA News

John G. “Jack” Cooper recently retired from G/BA’s Advisory Board after 21 years of service. His contribution to the firm was honored during a recent Advisory Board meeting.

A graduate of Purdue University and a U.S. Army veteran, Cooper had a long career with Air Products Equipment Company of Elk Grove Village, IL, progressing from Sales Engineer to company Chairman before his retirement in 1995. He joined G/BA’s Board of Directors in 1996 and later became a member of the firm’s Advisory Board. He has been instrumental in G/BA’s overall growth and direction.

A past president of ASHRAE’s Illinois Chapter, Jack has also served as a valuable mentor for many engineers, including G/BA co-founder Alexander Butkus (shown at right with Jack in the photo above). “Jack, as G/BA’s first outside board member, provided outstanding perspective on our industry and company strategy,” says Butkus. “On a personal note, he has served, along with Dave Grumman, as a mentor and confidant to me throughout my career, for which I am eternally indebted.”

G/BA thanks Jack for his many years of engaged, creative support to the firm and for his many contributions to the engineering profession.
