Five team members were promoted to new positions at Grumman/Butkus Associates, including staff in the Evanston, New York regional, and Milwaukee regional offices.
- Frank Sanchez, CPD, GPD, and Jessica Schmitz were promoted to Project Manager.
- Alex Sir, E.I.T.; Willis Perley; and Mark DeMaio, ACP were promoted to Project Engineer.
Frank Sanchez joined the firm in 2005. He is an Architectural Studies alumnus of the University of Costa Rica and holds the Certified Plumbing Designer and Green Plumbing Design certifications from the American Society of Plumbing Engineers. His work focuses on the design and engineering of plumbing, fire protection, and medical gas systems for healthcare, hospitality, higher education, and other client groups.
Jessica Schmitz, who joined G/BA in 2010, is a 2010 graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (Electrical Systems for Buildings Specialty). Her work encompasses projects for commercial, healthcare, government, and telecommunications mission-critical facilities. She is based in the company’s Milwaukee regional office.
Alex Sir, an Engineer-in-Training, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2015. He joined G/BA in 2016 after having served as an intern with the Evanston office. His work encompasses commissioning, retro-commissioning, and design, with an emphasis on healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and commercial facilities.
Willis Perley has been a member of the firm since 2016, shortly after his graduation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. His field engineering work has been wide-ranging, including commercial, governmental, higher education, hospitality, healthcare, multifamily residential, and laboratory projects.
Mark DeMaio, a 2016 graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology, holds the Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering degree as well as the Associate Commissioning Professional certification. He is based in the firm’s New York regional office, where his work focuses on systems commissioning for diverse building types including multifamily residential, higher education, and hospitality.
