G/BA Staff Raises Men’s Health Awareness
Throughout November, Grumman/Butkus Associates is proudly participating in the Movember Foundation’s annual Movember campaign.
The campaign challenges men to grow a moustache, to be physically active and move (a challenge issued to female allies as well), or to host a fundraising event. These activities are intended to spark conversations and raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health.
The eight participants of the GBA Mustache Co began the month clean-shaven and will continue to grow moustaches for the entire month to exhibit their commitment. The team encourages friends, family, and colleagues to donate to their efforts to improve men’s health. Pictured above (left to right) are team members Josh Remaley, George Ioannou (team captain), Kevin Vander Klay, and John Villani. Matt Butkus, Dave Nelson, Tim Shinnick, and John Tsingas are also participating.
The Movember Foundation is the only global charity focused solely on men’s health. The group’s projects emphasize prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention.
“Men’s health is a topic near and dear to me. Given the important men in my life, both at G/BA and at home, I felt that this was an appropriate and worthy cause to bring attention to,” says Ioannou. “The Movember Foundation has funded more than 1,200 projects that have saved and improved the lives of men all around the world. I enjoy participating in Movember because it is a fun way to raise awareness of very serious health issues faced by men every day. Whether you’re a man or a woman, spreading a little awareness of issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention will benefit all of us.”
