MECHANICAL/HVAC DESIGN PROJECT ENGINEER

Minimum Responsibilities

In this role, you will initially work with and be mentored by experienced engineers. Your initial assignments will include:

  • Designing/drafting for projects
  • Performing load calculations
  • Determining system sizing and layouts
  • Calculating equipment sizes
  • Selecting equipment
  • Completing field surveys
  • Reviewing equipment shop drawings.
  • Coordinating your work with other design disciplines (Electrical/Plumbing/FP).
  • As you gain project experience, you will take on a greater role in leading design assignments, writing specifications, participating in project meetings with clients and other consultants, and supporting construction-phase and/or commissioning work.

Qualifications

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • BSME/BSAE from ABET accredited school.
  • EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
  • Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and/or REVIT software.
  • Fundamental knowledge of building systems.
  • 5 to 10 years experience designing building HVAC systems in technically sophisticated buildings.
