Energy and Retro-Commissioning Project Engineer

Minimum Responsibilities
You will serve as an integral member of the GBA team for energy analysis and retro-commissioning projects. In this role, you will initially work with and be mentored by experienced engineers. Your initial assignments will include:
- Condition assessments, energy audits, and retro-commissioning for existing facilities
- Supporting the development of innovative energy concepts for new and existing buildings
- Completing field surveys; reviewing equipment shop drawings and other information related to studies
- Calculating energy savings associated with measures identified in energy audits or retro-commissioning utilizing Excel or building simulation tools/software
- Providing project management and coordination on small- and medium-sized projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule
- Maintaining effective communication with clients, contractors, and other project team members
- Preparing summary reports and presentations and delivering them to clients, multidisciplinary project teams, and other relevant parties
- Supporting business development activities, including networking at industry events, developing and maintaining client relationships, and preparation of proposals.
- There may also be some work related to ENERGY STAR, LEED, and Green Globes assessments and certifications. As you gain project experience, you will take on a greater role in leading assignments.
Qualifications
What You Will Need to Succeed
- BS in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from ABET accredited school.
- FE/EIT certification (passed the FE exam) a plus.
- Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel software.
- Solid knowledge of building MEP systems, including temperature controls systems and BAS.
- 5 to 15 years of experience in analyzing/simulating building energy using systems, especially HVAC systems, in technically sophisticated buildings and performing energy audits and/or retro-commissioning assignments.
- Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
