NYU is renovating an existing facility, built in 1951, to become the home of the applied science arm of CUSP, an academic initiative on cities. G/BA's New York regional office is commissioning building MEP systems for the site's conversion to a 560,000-square-foot research center, including lab, administrative, and meeting space.
The project consists of a gut renovation of a 14-story masonry building.
G/BA has conducted two design reviews of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems: one at the 50% design phase and one at the 100% construction documents phase.
