Windy City I2SL Plans Holiday Mixer and Labs Short Course

The Windy City Chapter of the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) invites colleagues to two special events: a Holiday Happy Hour on Nov. 28 and the I2SL High-Performance, Low-Energy Laboratory Design Short Course on Dec. 15.

The Happy Hour will include a brief year-end roundup by Windy City board members and is sponsored by Miele Professional. The event will be held at Miele's Chicago Experience Center in the Merchandise Mart (222. W. Merchandise Mart Plaza) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Laboratory Design short course is co-sponsored by the University of Illinois at Chicago's Master of Energy Engineering program and the UIC Student Branch of ASHRAE. It will be held in the UIC Engineering Research Facility at 842 W. Taylor St., from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., covering topics of planning, architecture, HVAC, lighting/daylighting, water, and financing. Speakers will be Dan Doyle, P.E., LEED AP O+M, Chairman of Grumman/Butkus Associates; Adana Johns, AIA, Science+Technology Leader at Perkins+Will Chicago, and Vytenis Milunas, Director of Project Management at UIC.
