For the third year in a row, Grumman/Butkus Associates has received a Champion for Change award from Practice Greenhealth, a nonprofit membership organization.
The group offers environmental solutions for the healthcare sector and promotes best practices by hospitals, related facilities, and their suppliers and service providers. The Champion for Change award recognizes businesses, group purchasing organizations, and strategic associate members that demonstrate successful accomplishments in “greening” their own organizations and that have assisted their healthcare facility clients in improving their environmental performance. A rigorous submission and review process is required for consideration.
To gain recognition, G/BA documented its in-house sustainability efforts as well as its work helping clients create more resource-efficient healthcare facilities. The firm was among 20 recipients of the 2015 Champion for Change designation, only four of which were architecture or engineering firms.
G/BA’s recent collaborations with Practice Greenhealth include a presentation at the September 2014 Greening the OR Symposium (with client York Chan of Advocate Health Care) and a recent Greenhealth Academy webinar on Energy and Water Benchmarking for Hospitals. Our annual Hospital Energy and Water Benchmarking Survey, an important free resource, is a primary aspect of the G/BA’s effort to promote resource-efficient hospitals; the firm is currently collecting data for the 2015 report.
